The Film Partnership of North Carolina Announces New Partnership with Tri-City Film Consortium, Wraps 2024 with New Recruitment Record

North Carolina – January 24, 2025 – The Film Partnership of North Carolina is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Tri-City Film Consortium of North Carolina. TCFC is a North Carolina nonprofit focused on empowering communities through arts education by providing filmmaking production opportunities. Similar to the Film Partnership, TCFC believes in providing hands-on learning experiences, making filmmaking and the arts accessible to everyone.

This exciting collaboration will combine the resources and expertise of both organizations to create new pathways for aspiring filmmakers. The partnership will offer participants a comprehensive program working alongside industry professionals in various aspects of film production – structured to provide real-world, immersive experiences that equip the next generation of filmmakers with the skills they need to succeed in this competitive industry.

This new alliance signifies the Film Partnership’s continued efforts of statewide expansion and focus on historically underserved communities. “We are thrilled to join forces with the Tri-City Film Consortium, we share goals with respect to film and providing top-tier film education and hands-on learning experiences,” stated Lauren Vilchik, Treasurer, Film Partnership of North Carolina. “This partnership allows us to provide invaluable training, ensuring that young artists have the opportunities they deserve regardless of lack of access to the industry,” Vilchik continued.

“The partnership between our organizations represents a groundbreaking opportunity to bridge education and industry,” said Ron T. Harris, President of TCFC. “This is a unique and immersive training that we hope empowers aspiring creators to turn their visions into reality. To spark innovation, collaboration, and practical experience.”

The first training cycle with Tri-City Film Consortium will commence January 25. The Film Partnership and TCFC extend special thanks to Dr. Will Boone and Winston Salem State University for hosting the inaugural co-training.

And we are grateful for the community support and the partnerships that help us to reach our goals. Organizations like IATSE 491, Dark Horse Stages, UNCSA, Cape Fear Community College, and now Tri-City Film Consortium have supported our mission in a variety of impactful ways and we look forward to 2025 being another stellar year,” Hamilton concluded.
